Dear Esteemed Participants,
Welcome to the 11th Asian Conference for Frailty and Sarcopenia, to be held on October 17-18, 2025, in Kaohsiung. As the President of the Asian Association for Frailty and Sarcopenia and co-lead of the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia, it is my honor and privilege to extend a warm welcome to all of you.
Since the First Asian Conference for Frailty and Sarcopenia, held on November 13-14, 2015, in Taipei, this conference has grown into a significant platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and health professionals dedicated to tackling frailty and sarcopenia. Now, as we gather for the 11th edition, we are excited to explore this year's theme: “Enhancing Muscle, Empowering Vitality.”
The Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) has continuously made significant contributions to the field of sarcopenia research, particularly through the AWGS 2019 consensus update on sarcopenia diagnosis and treatment. This year, we are eager to announce that the AWGS consensus will be updated and presented during this conference, marking another milestone in our journey towards advancing muscle health.
Moreover, this conference is not only focused on sarcopenia but also encompasses broader areas such as frailty, integrated care for older people (ICOPE), and innovative approaches in geriatric care.We are also excited to highlight digital health, which plays a growing role in our field, with discussions focusing on its latest advancements in enhancing frailty and sarcopenia management, clinical care, and healthy aging.
Our mission remains clear — to promote scientific innovation, collaboration, and practical solutions that improve muscle health and vitality among older adults. Through this conference, we hope to inspire new ideas, forge partnerships, and empower our community to enhance the quality of life for those affected by frailty and sarcopenia.

Dear Esteemed Guests,
Greetings!
On behalf of Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital (KSVGH), it is with immense pleasure that I extend a heartfelt welcome to all participants. We are honored to host the 11th Asian Conference of Frailty and Sarcopenia (ACFS) on October 17th to 18th, 2025.
Responding to the challenges posed by an aging population, KSVGH has been at the forefront of geriatric care in Southern Taiwan. As the region's sole public medical center, we offer comprehensive services encompassing acute and critical care, long-term care, smart healthcare, and health promotion. We established the Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology in 2004, and subsequent developments including the Geriatric Medicine Building in 2014, day care and integrated long-term care centers in 2017, and a long-term residential care facility in 2023. These initiatives have culminated in an integrated care model supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary geriatric team.
KSVGH has been recognized with accolades such as the Best Age-Friendly Hospital Golden Award from Taiwan’s Health Promotion Administration and Center of Excellence by the Joint Commission of Taiwan, affirming our commitment to excellence in geriatric care.
Embracing innovation, KSVGH has integrated artificial intelligence, wearable sensor technologies, and telemedicine applications into our smart healthcare initiatives. Our efforts have been acknowledged with consecutive Smart Hospital Awards and the Presidential Hackathon Excellence Award for our "Yu-Lao App" in 2025, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and digital transformation to enhance care quality and efficiency for older adults.
This year’s conference gathers global leaders in geriatrics and smart health technologies to share diverse perspectives and practical experiences. We invite you to explore our facilities during site visits and exchanges organized as part of the conference. We eagerly anticipate sharing our experiences in integrated geriatric care, continuity of care, and smart healthcare applications, fostering mutual learning and innovative ideas towards advancing elder care and creating an age-friendly and sustainable society.
